How we support businesses

Red Ninja CEO Lee Omar describes how the Innovation Agency has helped his business to grow through collaborations with the NHS on technology to improve lives.

Our commercial business team provides support to small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) working in health and social care across our region; Cheshire and Warrington, Merseyside, and Lancashire and south Cumbria

Alongside partners, we have received £3.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for our bespoke business support work, to help SMEs, whose innovative products and services will help to improve healthcare and create savings.

This has been matched by a further £3m from the partners with whom we are delivering the ERDF programmes, creating a huge investment in our local health economy.

Working with industry

For larger companies, and those outside our region, we seek to work with those that have proven innovations that will meet the needs of our NHS partners and those looking for collaborative partnerships to support transformation of patient pathways and services.

Our key focus is adoption, but we can introduce companies to other partners in our region for research and product development collaborations.

Our work also includes securing funding for healthcare projects, partners and SMEs; supporting inward investment; delivering European funded projects; running competitions to support adoption and change; and supporting NHS partnerships with industry.

The key stages of our support are highlighted on the Innovation Pathway which shows where we offer support, advice and expertise to innovators.

We share close links with the ABHI and are proud to promote the ABHI code of practice which outlines ethical best practice.
