Clinical Trials

High quality scientific research through controlled clinical trials may be necessary to provide evidence of the effectiveness and safety of a new product before it goes to market.

Research contributes to longer term evidenced based treatments and supports quality improvement, innovation and evaluation.

The Innovation Agency will guide you through the complex NHS research process, match innovators with relevant clinicians and provide support in obtaining CE marking/MHRA approval of the product ready for procurement into the NHS.

We work closely with the National Institute for Healthcare Research Clinical Research Network North West Coast (NIHR CRN North West Coast) which can also assist with conducting clinical trials.

Not all products need clinical trials and the Innovation Agency can provide advice on what your organisation may need.

If you require additional information regarding Clinical Trials, please contact our Business Connect Team on 01772 520263 or via the online Business Connect enquiry form.
