Transfer of value disclosure describes the funding received from non-NHS organisations to support programmes of work that aim to improve the health and care system in the North West Coast.
This includes:
Grants/donations - when the aims and objectives are set by the NHS organisation, and the industry body provides only resource (which could be for example financial resource, human resource or other resource).
Joint Working and Collaborative working - occurs when the aims and objectives are developed jointly and shared, with both parties contributing both resources and thinking.
Both of the types of arrangement are accepted forms of relationships with industry. It also applies to donations by non-profit making or charitable organisations. Any transfer of value not defined as donations and grants, joint working or collaborative working are out of scope of this disclosure guidance and not subject to disclosure.
Guidance for this Disclosure of Transfer of Value has been informed by the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) code of ethical business conduct and Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) code of practice . It is intended to apply to all industry interactions whether they involve ABPI / ABHI members or not.
