The annual awards celebrate success and the excellent work being undertaken in health and care across the region, demonstrating the impact of clinical research and innovation on patient and social care.

The awards are hosted by the Innovation Agency, NIHR Clinical Research Network North West Coast (CRN NWC), and Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC).

Innovation Agency Chief Executive Dr Liz Mear said: “Year by year we’ve seen innovation in health and technology across the North West Coast go from strength to strength, making a real and lasting impact on health and care for patients in the region.

“This is reflected in the variety and quality of projects and organisations shortlisted for this year's North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards and I look forward to celebrating some of this word-class work.”

Professor Mark Gabbay, Director of ARC NWC, said: “I congratulate all those shortlisted, and look forward to celebrating the applied research and implementation work we are doing with our many partners to reduce health inequalities across the North West Coast.

“ARC NWC brings together universities, NHS organisations, local authorities and the public to collaborate on devising and delivering research that makes a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our communities. These awards enable us to recognise the people and passion behind these partnerships.”

Jacqueline Pirmohamed, Chief Operating Officer CRN NWC, said: “The North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards now enter their fifth year and we are delighted to be bringing the awards to Warrington in February.

“Each year the shortlist becomes more and more competitive, reflecting a community of research-driven healthcare professionals who continue to push boundaries so that healthcare can advance for our local, national and global populations. Congratulations to everyone who made the shortlist and we look forward to celebrating your achievements on the night.”

This year, more than 100 entries were submitted across 13 categories. You can view the full list of finalists and more information about the award on the North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards website...
